New Moon in Taurus

If the Scorpio Full Moon wrought our exhalation
Herein lies the inhale.

The depth of intake
equal to the amount
which we are willing to let go

Of expired stories of rejection
Of old rules we’ve encased our hunger within;
Rules that have cordoned us from
participation and belonging.

Venus ruled Taurus represents the feminine/receptive principle.

To breathe-in is to receive.

To allow our cells to swell
with the life force that surrounds us.

And, yet how often do we permit ourselves
to deeply receive?

To slow down
to linger
in the passing fullness of a moment

To drink in the warmth offered by another
To rest our gaze on the beauty of our children’s faces
To caress our own skin as a Mother would;
As lover would

Venus is also equated with our sense of worthiness

Because the amount that we permit ourselves to receive
~ sensation, pleasure, money, love ~
is akin to the amount by which we deem ourselves worthy.

A measure not dictated
by affirmation or achievement
or elaborate gestures of self-care.

But in the ways that we can gently
stretch open
our tender and hidden places;
Tissues contracted with old fear and shame

To deepen in receptivity
~ moment-to-moment ~
to the simple beauty of the
offerings that life lays at our feet
